Gelado / Ice Cream – Pedro Calhau

This artist’s book does not occur as a reaction to a particular series of work, but rather, it deals with the use of a graphic device, which the artist uses in the investigation for his work – the Venn diagram.
The book is thus based on two diagrams. The first, which gives the book its name, looks at the artist’s encounters/influences in the field of knowledge and popular culture. The second sets the premise for a game of affinities and free associations which, in its mechanism, shares the modus operandi of how the artist develops his practice.
