Scott MacLeod: Serious Projects

With the new publication “Scott MacLeod/Serious Projects,” the artist attempts to self-document his forty-five years of painting, sculpture, installation and performance in the USA and including many activities in Europe since 1990, when MacLeod was one of the first American artists since the 1950s to present performance art in Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Poland and other Eastern European countries.

Printed in the Czech Republic, this catalog documents activities in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic, including performances in Psychiatrická nemocnice v Dobřanech in 1990 and 1991, Galerie H in Kostelec nad Černymi Lesy in 1990, at Hermit in Plasy in 1995, and with Franta Skála at Sluňákov centrum ekologických in Horka nad Moravou in 2015. Also documented are installations in Dominic Centrum, Plzeň and in Hrad Zámek Klenová in 1996, and exhibitions in Galerie H in 2022 and Galerie Svít in 2015. Additionally, MacLeod’s fiction, poetry, theater and critical writings have been widely published in the USA and, in translation, in Russia, Yugoslavia, Finland and the Czech Republic
