On the beach below the Tropic of Cancer, young boys roam, performing services derived from the movement of the sun across the sky, and conspiring to break free from its power. In Copenhagen, an IT consultant misses a business meeting and instead gets seduced by a pale young man who initiates him into derivatives trading, a terrifying economy that has taken over the world of finance. A grief-stricken old man falls in love with a strange object in the desert; while his wife is at a concert in Las Vegas, he attempts to merge with the object. In a city that could be called London, three people are trying to form a family, but are under pressure from addiction, lack of finances and a baby on the way. Consciously or unconsciously, they are all contributing to the demise of this world by preparing for the next.
