The Hatchery: Alam Ater spread her arms and scattered a flock of new self-sufficient individuals. Some were blown away by the wind across the meadows, a few got caught in thick bushes, others rolled down the hills in groups. She feared for them, as she did every year. What if they got lost or fell off a cliff, or someone hurt them?
One cannot exist without the other. Everything is connected in the hatchery. Soft mycelium surrounds and nourishes everything. Stina's first memory was lying next to Alvo when she hatched. The connection was so strong that even after he died, she could still feel his thoughts. (excerpt from the forthcoming book Florendom)
