The book Zubama po skle (Teeth on Glass) is a comprehensive selection of Filip Topol's literary work. It presents his characteristic themes and styles and includes prose, poetry, and song lyrics written by the author, who was associated with the independent culture and Prague underground scene, from the late 1970s to the beginning of the new millennium. The texts, in which Filip Topol, among other things, "lives on in our memory as a forever shamelessly young, outrageously talented, and carefree cheeky poet – a 'divine rascal'," are accompanied by a number of previously unpublished photographs, reproductions of the author's artwork, other archival sources, factual information, and an afterword pointing to certain contexts and opening up possible interpretations. Above all, the volume offers a lively reading experience and thus encourages deeper reflection on Topol's work. The titles of the sections of the book – I. It seems terrible to me, II. I will describe the event in novel form, III. I have certain ideas, IV. All this is true, as I saw it then, V. I would like to please you somehow, VI. You are powerful in your freedom and loneliness – resonate with essential associations, themes, and motifs that found expression in Filip Topol's intensely experienced reality, ironic (self)reflection, and unique creative sensitivity.
