In this book, the author reflects on timeless, philosophical things... but above all on the mundane, the obvious, which he recalls in connection with the death of both parents. He does this with insight, irony and humour, insofar as it is possible to joke about such things as dying or death. And also with a good deal of storytelling. She fondly recalls her mother, who loved to accumulate things, not only books, but also objects, furniture and home accessories. And more than once she asked him: "What are you going to do with all this?" The stories can be very well applied to most of the realities of the area of Central Europe, where a totalitarian form of power prevailed in the second half of the 20th century.

What is left to us after the death of a loved one? Are they objects, memories, fragments of sentences? The narrator sifts through the books and objects left behind by his mother while composing a portrait of her, a memory of a strong, principled woman who never gave up.
