A young teacher meets a man on her way to work on her first day. And it is on the train that she experiences the bulk of a passionate relationship with her charismatic father. With her insight, she brings us both into the world of high school students and into the depths of her soul, where she is struggling with her new role in life. Translated by Markéta Kliková. Danish author Tine Høeg (1985) has made a name for herself in a very unconventional style. She arranges her verbose comments and thoughts, laden with emotion and meaning, into short, almost poetic stanzas. She writes about completely everyday experiences without the ballast of verbal psychologisation and description, yet her texts go deep under the skin. Her debut novel, Please Come (Nye rejsende, 2017), won the Danish Bogforums Debutantpris. Both her first and second novel, Tour de Chambre (2020), have been adapted for the stage at the Danish National Theatre, Det Kongelige Teater. In 2022, her third novel, Hunger (Sult), about what fertility treatments do to a person, an artist and the body, was published. A film adaptation is being prepared by Netflix (2025). The novels are partly autobiographical and became instant bestsellers. In 2022, Tine Høeg received the Edvard P.
