Between Sand and Stars is a travelogue. Through foreign lands, through Hruboskalsko, through the stars, and through memory. When Marco Polo arrived in China, Columbus in America, and Cook on various Pacific islands, people had long been living there. They didn't actually discover anything, but they still wrote books about their discoveries. Maps no longer say Terra incognita, but who really knows what is out there today? Everything will be forgotten again, and there is always time to discover the world anew. So I start in the immediate vicinity of my house and continue wherever the wind blows me.
This book is a piece of the map of my world, to which you are cordially invited. Perhaps you should avoid places marked Hic sunt leones. You'll have to prepare your own sandwich for the journey, but
I'll give you three valuable pieces of advice.
Be patient! Some things take a while to get going, but then they can be a lot of fun.
Be observant! If you can't keep reading because you're overwhelmed by stimuli and start writing your own book instead, that's an excellent result.
You'll find the last and most valuable piece of advice in the book. Be tuned in!
