This thrilling and entertaining intertwining of stories spanning three generations, with a mythological and mystical backdrop and the dystopian atmosphere of Bratislava as an overpopulated megapolis, is the crowning achievement to date of Petr Šulej (1967), poet, prose writer, great connoisseur of rock music, and also a tireless organizer of literary life, publisher, and editor of the cultural revue Vlna. The novel features the protagonists Miro, Petr, and Daniela, who at the end of the book bring to a close not only the prose text itself, but also the entire series of a loose trilogy. In this experimentally written text, the author reflects on the direction of Slovak society, and on a broader scale, the entire planet, on migration, climate change, the advent of new technologies, genetic manipulation, and other challenges that humanity will have to face.
