Den, kdy jíš křen, nezemřeš! EAT ART Kateřiny Černé

The publication was created as an edited collection of visual and written materials related to culinary themes in the work of the original artist Kateřina Černá (1937–2024), which we can boldly call eat art. With her magical power to transform ordinary things into festive ones, the author created, for example, charming and useful wall artifacts from napkins and bags in simple collages, into which she handwrote family recipes, both acquired and her own, often with a literary tone. With her characteristic humor, she presented them as her (marginal) culinary art. Following a professional introduction by Anežka Šimková, these artistic artifacts are arranged as a catalog-menu by K. Č. (from vegetables to soups to medicinal decoctions). The book, graphically designed by Anna Pleštilová, also includes an appendix with reprints of Kateřina Černá's previously unpublished books from the 1960s and 1970s: O velikém mlsání (On Great Snacking), Fazole (Beans), and Tajemství mladé ženy (The Secret of a Young Woman).
