Two books in one contain the book one of comprehensive poem/text titled John Doe & Joe Bloggs written by the author on this ocasion in 2011 and the book two titled Spoken Word / Written World bringing retrospectively together selected experimental texts (autonomous artworks, „theoretical performances“, visual poems, list of titles / neologisms...) of the artist, singer and curator Boris Ondreička.
This collection includes schemes, diagrams and drawings / sketches / projects alltogether with texts created from 1994 to 2011.
The book one is portrait oriented, the book two is landscape oriented, divided one from each other by perforation of the page, the paper.
Ondreička calls his way of experimenting with the text „Ramblers“, in both of its potential meanings. On one hand the peregrination in the inside-out territory of cognition, memorizing and expresion, „Intimacy vs Outimacy“, where one is trapped by „smog“ of disturbing perceptive impulses which stretch his/hers mind through all senses and „kidnap intended attention“... hallucination, delirium... On the other hand, just like wild ivy, slightly venomous, slightly creepy, which expands its peduncles simultaneously to all directions.
Ondreička losing any interest in „physical production“ transformed his creative methodology to mainly landscape oriented, standardised sheets (printable pdfs, curves...) of open, variable final form, dimension, media (mural, poster, pamphlet, flyer, publication etc.) – the base of negotiation between him and his individual or institutional „addresees“ and cooperative, production partners...
Boris Ondreička (*1969, lives in Bratislava, SK) has exhibited his works amongst many at Manifesta 2 in Luxembourg, Generation Z at PS1, NYC, Venice Biennales, Mumok, Secession and TBA21 in Vienna, Magazin-4 Bregenz, Kölnischer and Frankfurter Kunstvereins, Le Plateau Paris, W139 and De Appel Amsterdam, Bak Utrecht... As a curator he has worked with Lois & Franziska Weinberger, Jef Geys, Carl Michael von Hausswollf, Franz Pomassl, Denisa Lehocká, Stano Filko, Jiří Kovanda, Július Koller and many others. He has co/curated Manifesta 8 in Murcia, Cartagena, ES in 2010.
